The Tidal Rave Festival, one of Ghana’s biggest youth-driven events, is returning with fresh energy and bold ambitions. Slated for November 14 and 15, 2025, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, the festival is positioning itself not just as a party, but as a cultural movement that celebrates creativity, innovation, and community.

This year, organizers are shifting the spotlight to the Culture Currents — a team of leading creative voices tasked with shaping the festival experience. Event Director Awo Ampadu Somuah said at the launch event, “Over the years, Tidal Rave has been known for delivering the ultimate rave experience. But this year, for the first time ever, the spotlight shifts to the Culture Currents, a carefully selected team of top industry specialists.”

The Culture Currents lineup includes Lisa Quama, Ato Sekyi, Rev Erskine, Samuella Graham, Ellen Osabutey, Makafui Awuku, Kojo Junior, and Joewackle. Together, they will reimagine raving in 2025 through diverse elements such as fashion, food, culture, dance, storytelling, and sustainability.

Festival partners are also upping their contributions. Absa Bank is offering exclusive ticket discounts to make the event more accessible for young Ghanaians. “Tidal Rave Festival is a vibrant expression of youth culture and ambition, and we are proud to give Ravers the opportunity to enjoy this experience on their own terms,” said Charles Addo, Director of Retail Banking at Absa Bank.

Meanwhile, Johnnie Walker is building on last year’s popular Flavour Code Experience with a new concept called Afro Exchange, designed to connect communities and celebrate youth culture across borders. According to Nana Yaa Amoah-Owusu, Marketing Manager at Guinness Ghana, “Afro Exchange is about creating spaces where young people can share, express, and experience culture in bold new ways.”

In a major development, the festival has signed a two-year partnership with the Black Star Experience (BSE), an initiative under the Office of the President to promote tourism and the creative arts industry.

Rex Owusu Marfo, Presidential Staffer and Coordinator of the BSE, described the collaboration as an investment in the future: “We are not forcing them to come to our museum; we are bringing the museum to their festival. We are creating living, breathing, pulsing cultural moments.”

EchoHouse CEO Beryl Agyekum Ayaaba said the partnership affirms the festival’s mission of empowerment. “Tidal Rave Festival has always been more than just an event; it is a platform to showcase incredible talent within Ghana’s creative arts. This collaboration with the BSE will help us take the initiative to an international level.”

As part of the partnership, Tidal Rave is expected to expand to other African countries, with the first new destination to be announced later this year.

With the Culture Currents leading the vision and brand partners like Absa Bank, Johnnie Walker, Red Bull, MobileMoney Limited, and the Black Star Experience shaping the experience, Tidal Rave Festival 2025 promises to be more than just a rave, it will be a movement redefining Ghanaian youth culture at home and abroad.
