Nigeria’s President Tinubu Announces Release of All 38 Abducted Worshippers in Enuku

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that all 38 Christian worshippers abducted by armed militants in Eruku, Kwara State, have been successfully recovered, marking a significant security breakthrough for his administration.
The President made the announcement in a formal statement released via his official Facebook page on Sunday evening, November 23, 2025.
This was his message below:
My fellow Nigerians,
You will recall that I deliberately postponed my participation in the G20 Summit in South Africa to take direct charge of our national security operations during this critical period.
I am pleased to announce that, following sustained and coordinated action by our security forces, all 38 abducted worshippers from Eruku, Kwara State, have now been rescued and brought to safety.
In addition, I welcome the recovery of 51 of the missing students from the Catholic school in Niger State—another indication that our counter-kidnapping strategy is yielding tangible results.
Let me emphasize that I am maintaining strict oversight of the national security landscape and receiving continuous intelligence from the field.
And let me speak plainly: this government will not capitulate. Every citizen, in every corner of this federation, is entitled to protection—and under my stewardship, we will reinforce the security architecture and uphold the sanctity of Nigerian lives.
