Nigerian celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has announced her next ambitious culinary challenge: cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

The record-breaking attempt is scheduled for September 12th, 2025, in collaboration with food brand Gino. The centerpiece of the event will be a giant custom-made pot measuring 6 metres wide and 6 metres tall, specially designed for the occasion.

Hilda Baci, who rose to global fame in 2023 after her 100-hour cook-a-thon in Lagos, emphasized that the new challenge extends beyond cooking.

The event will highlight jollof rice one of West Africa’s most beloved and hotly debated dishes while also featuring live performances, cultural showcases, and community participation.

If successful, this achievement will add another Guinness World Record to Baci’s name, further cementing her reputation as one of Africa’s most influential chefs.
