The maiden edition of the FTY Rave has successfully positioned itself as more than just another music-centric gathering, delivering a multi-layered youth culture experience that unfolded at GHUD Park, Accra Mall.

Organised by Free The Youth, the FTY Rave set out to challenge the traditional idea of a rave and it delivered. While pulsating music and DJ sets set the tempo for the night, the event’s true distinction lay in its carefully curated range of activities that gave attendees multiple ways to engage, express themselves and connect.

From sports and games to interactive zones, the space was transformed into a dynamic playground where music, movement and culture intersected. Attendees were free to move between experiences, creating personal rhythms within the larger collective energy of the event.

One of the standout moments of the rave was the basketball competition, hosted in partnership with Jordan. The court quickly became a focal point of excitement as players displayed skill, competitiveness, and passion, drawing large crowds and reinforcing the deep ties between sports, street culture, and music. The collaboration with Jordan added a layer of global credibility, seamlessly blending international street culture with a locally driven youth movement.

In addition to basketball, the event also featured a skating competition, further underlining FTY Rave’s commitment to representing diverse elements of youth expression. Skaters brought flair and creativity to the space, turning the park into a live showcase of urban culture in motion.

By fusing music with sports, games and interactive experiences, the FTY Rave demonstrated a broader vision for youth events in Ghana.
