Renowned culinary creative, Chef Abbys, is set to bring communities together through her initiative, The Big Street Feast, a program dedicated to fighting hunger and spreading kindness through the power of food.

The event takes place on October 16th, 2025 ( World Food Day ) and will be held at multiple vantage points across Accra with food trucks and food stands set to draw over 15,000 people, volunteers, supporters, and beneficiaries. The initiative is to serve several nutritious meals to children, families, and individuals in need, while also raising awareness about food insecurity and the importance of community-driven solutions.

Chef Abbys emphasised her mission: “Food is more than survival, it is memory, dignity, culture, and love. With The Big Street Feast, we are not just feeding people, we are championing a movement.”

The Big Street Feast is set to grow into a highly anticipated movement, mobilizing communities across Ghana. Chef Abbys partnering with Kivo, Diaspora Affairs and Yango to create a global ripple effect in the fight against hunger and with a rallying theme “Wherever You Are, Food Will Find You.”

The event seeks a strong call to action for individuals, organizations, and policymakers to work hand in hand to eliminate food insecurity, spread generosity, culture, and advocacy into one powerful experience.
