The Black Stars booked their ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup after edging Comoros 1-0 in a tense but thrilling qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday night.

A second-half strike from Mohammed Kudus made the difference as Ghana sealed qualification in style, sending thousands of fans into jubilation across the packed stadium.

Otto Addo’s side started brightly, dominating possession and creating early chances, but a well-drilled Comorian defence kept them at bay in the first half. The breakthrough came just two minutes after the restart when Thomas Partey found space down the right and sent in a precise low cross that Kudus coolly tucked home.

Ghana head coach Otto Addo has urged caution ahead of the Black Stars’ final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, describing Comoros as a disciplined and dangerous opponent.

The decisive clash takes place on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off set for 19:00 GMT. Ghana need just a single point to secure their place at next year’s Mundial.

Speaking to the media ahead of the fixture, Addo highlighted the threat posed by the island nation.
